Our History I was born and raised in Merida Yukatan Mexico, on july 16th. 1962, the year of the water tiger.
I came to the big island to experience community life and to heal my body after almost dying from bronchitis in a hospital in Sacramento. Thru my cousin Alfredo I found Pangaia, a raw food community where I stayed for 4 months. Manis, the owner gave me the name Jesus. That was on sep. 1997, the year of the ox. He welcomed me as a brother and there I found my mission in life. I fell in love with organic farming, permaculture, communal living homesteading and sustainable living. I left Pangaia to help Chita (who was also living there at the time.) homestead 3 acres he just purchase.
We cleared the land with bow saws, created trails with pick axes and cleared areas for tarp structures made of 16 ml black and white woven polyurethane which we built using scissors and whatever tools were at hand. We made the floor out of cinders and straw and the furniture was built out of pallets. I stayed with Chita for 10 months until I was ready to make my dream come true. Now that dream is called Cinderland.
